Editorial Policy
Last Updated: May 12, 2026
BaricBoost.com is dedicated to providing accurate, evidence-based, and accessible information about hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) and related topics. This editorial policy explains how we create, review, and maintain our content so you can trust what you read here.
Our Mission
Our mission is to be the most trustworthy and reader-friendly resource for people exploring hyperbaric oxygen therapy. We believe everyone deserves access to clear, honest health information, presented without hype, jargon, or conflicts of interest. Every article we publish is written with that goal in mind.
Who Writes Our Content
All content on BaricBoost is written or reviewed by Seph Fontane Pennock, our founder and editorial lead, who brings both personal patient experience and systematic research methodology to every article. As an HBOT patient who has navigated the regenerative medicine landscape firsthand, Seph applies the same evidence standards to BaricBoost content that he used to evaluate his own treatment decisions.
Additional content on BaricBoost.com is contributed by qualified health writers and journalists with backgrounds in health sciences, medicine, nursing, or related fields. Writers are selected for their ability to translate complex medical research into clear, accurate, and useful information for general readers.
Before any writer publishes on BaricBoost.com, we review their credentials, writing samples, and familiarity with evidence-based health reporting. We do not publish content from anonymous authors. Writer credentials are displayed on their author pages.
Sourcing Standards
We hold our sourcing to a high standard. All clinical claims and health statements in our articles are supported by credible references, which may include:
- Peer-reviewed studies published in indexed medical journals, prioritizing those that meet ICMJE (International Committee of Medical Journal Editors) reporting standards
- Systematic reviews and meta-analyses
- Medical textbooks and clinical reference materials
- Guidelines from authoritative health organizations, including the Undersea and Hyperbaric Medical Society (UHMS), the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), the National Institutes of Health (NIH), and other relevant bodies
- Official government health portals (CDC, MedlinePlus, etc.)
We prioritize high-quality evidence over anecdote or industry marketing. Where evidence is limited, we say so clearly and do not overstate conclusions. UHMS-published indications and FDA-cleared uses are always distinguished from off-label or investigational applications.
Medical Review Process
All clinical content on BaricBoost.com is reviewed by qualified healthcare professionals before publication. Our reviewers check articles for clinical accuracy, appropriate evidence citations, safety-relevant information, and balanced presentation of benefits, risks, and uncertainties.
Reviewer credentials and the date of review are noted on each article. For more information about our review standards, see our Medical Review Process page.
Fact-Checking Process
Before any article goes live, it goes through an internal fact-checking process. Our fact-checking methodology follows the principles of evidence-based health journalism, including:
- All statistics and study citations are accurate and correctly attributed
- Claims are not overstated beyond what the cited research supports
- Terminology is used correctly and consistently
- Regulatory status of treatments is accurately described, including whether indications are FDA-cleared, off-label, or investigational
- UHMS indications are verified against current UHMS guidelines
- Contact information and links to external resources are functional and current
Update Policy
Medical and scientific knowledge evolves. Information that was accurate at the time of publication may become outdated as new research emerges. We periodically review our published articles and update them when significant new evidence, guideline changes, or regulatory updates affect the accuracy of the content.
When an article is meaningfully updated, the “Last Updated” date on that article is revised. We do not update the date for minor editorial fixes (such as correcting typos). UHMS indications are reviewed whenever the UHMS publishes updated guidance.
Correction Policy
We take accuracy seriously. If you believe an article contains an error, we encourage you to contact us at info@baricboost.com with the article URL and a description of the concern.
We review all correction requests promptly. If an error is confirmed, we correct it as quickly as possible and note the correction at the bottom of the article where appropriate. We do not delete corrections or quietly edit articles to hide mistakes.
Editorial Independence
BaricBoost.com maintains strict editorial independence. Our editorial team makes all content decisions based on what is accurate, useful, and in the best interest of our readers. We do not allow advertisers, sponsors, or affiliate partners to influence, review, or approve editorial content before publication.
If we have a commercial relationship with a company or product mentioned in an article, we disclose it clearly. See our Advertising and Affiliate Disclosure for more details.
AI Policy
We may use AI-assisted tools during the research and drafting process to help identify sources, organize information, and improve clarity. However, all content published on BaricBoost.com is reviewed, edited, and approved by human writers and qualified healthcare professionals before it goes live. We do not publish AI-generated content that has not been substantially reviewed and edited by humans.
AI tools are used to support our editorial process, not to replace the judgment of qualified writers and medical reviewers.
YMYL Commitment
Hyperbaric oxygen therapy content falls within Google’s Your Money or Your Life (YMYL) category. Health decisions based on inaccurate information can cause real harm. We take this responsibility seriously. Our editorial standards, medical review process, and sourcing requirements exist specifically to ensure that readers can trust what they read on this site when making consequential health decisions.
Feedback
We welcome feedback from readers, clinicians, and researchers. If you have a suggestion for a topic, a concern about an article, or a question about our editorial standards, please contact us at info@baricboost.com.
