Editorial Process

How We Create Content

Every article on BaricBoost goes through a structured editorial process designed to ensure accuracy, transparency, and usefulness for patients, caregivers, and clinicians.

Writing

Articles are written by experienced health writers with backgrounds in medical journalism, public health, or clinical practice. Every writer follows our internal sourcing standards, which require primary source citations for all factual claims. We do not accept manufacturer marketing language as editorial content.

Our writing standards prioritize:

  • Specificity over generality. Numbers, dosages, study sizes, and outcomes, not vague claims.
  • Primary source citations. Every non-obvious claim links to a peer-reviewed study, FDA document, UHMS guideline, or equivalent primary source. We do not cite other content sites as primary evidence.
  • Honest trade-offs. Every treatment has limitations, costs, and contraindications. We name them.

Editorial Review

Every article is reviewed before publication by at least one editor who checks:

  • Factual accuracy against cited sources
  • Voice and clarity
  • Internal link structure
  • SEO metadata (title, description, schema)
  • Compliance with our style guide

Expert Fact-Checking

High-priority articles are additionally reviewed by credentialed medical experts on a per-article basis. When an expert has fact-checked a piece, their name, credentials, and review date appear on that article as “Fact-checked by [Name], [Credentials].”

Reviewer names, credentials, and review dates are published on each reviewed article.

Founder Oversight

All content is reviewed by Seph Fontane Pennock, founder of BaricBoost and Regenerated.com. Seph previously built and sold PositivePsychology.com, which reached over 19 million users, and has direct experience with HBOT protocols across clinics on three continents. His background combines evidence-based health content at scale with firsthand patient experience.

Our Sources

We hold ourselves to strict sourcing standards. Acceptable primary sources include:

  • PubMed-indexed peer-reviewed journals (linked with DOI)
  • Cochrane systematic reviews
  • FDA documents (drug labels, premarket approvals, guidance)
  • UHMS (Undersea and Hyperbaric Medical Society) guidelines
  • NIH and NLM clinical information
  • Major academic medical center patient guides (Mayo Clinic, Cleveland Clinic, Johns Hopkins)
  • WHO, CDC, and NICE for population-level claims
  • Direct manufacturer specifications for product-related claims

We do not use Healthline, WebMD, Medical News Today, news articles, personal blogs, or Wikipedia as primary citations. When these sources reference useful data, we trace it back to the original study and cite that instead.

Corrections and Updates

If you find an error in any article, contact us at info@baricboost.com. We investigate all corrections within 48 hours and update the article with a visible “Last updated” date when changes are made.

We review and update high-traffic articles at least quarterly to reflect new research, updated guidelines, or changes in treatment availability and pricing.

AI Usage Policy

Our writers use AI tools for research assistance, data organization, and initial literature searches. All final content is written, reviewed, and approved by humans. We do not publish AI-generated drafts as finished articles.

Every article goes through our editorial review process regardless of what tools were used during research.

Affiliate and Commercial Disclosure

Some articles on BaricBoost contain affiliate links. When you purchase through these links, we may earn a commission at no additional cost to you. Our affiliate relationships do not influence our editorial evaluations or product rankings.

Commercial content (buying guides, product reviews, cost analyses) follows the same editorial standards as our clinical content, with additional requirements:

  • Hands-on product testing where possible
  • Published evaluation methodology
  • Prominent affiliate disclosure on every commercial page
  • Quantitative scoring criteria independent of affiliate status

Funding

BaricBoost is funded through affiliate commissions on HBOT equipment and related products, and through advertising. We are an independently owned publication. No HBOT manufacturer, clinic, or medical device company has editorial input or review authority over our content.
